How to write a play

 Zoe Fydenkevez, ‘26

I know how to write a play
Conjure magnificent characters that become the pinnacle of hate
The judgement will tumble from their lips
But I know how to make it work
First act finished to a nights clockwork
Easy living in this state
Silence all around, hidden in the maze

This pretender will shove his face in mine
Spit fire from lips as he turns
on a dime

My second act will remain a secret
Like my vanishing act it lies in the hands of a father
Rose garden thinning to the bold words
faded

The writer comes undone
But the playbill between your fingers will lead into a world full of fun
